It seems that the vine from which this wine originates was imported from Ormea hence the name, by the Saracens stationed in Nava.

Quality and curiosity

The cultivation of Ormeasco is mentioned in the history of the Marquises of Clavesana having one of them, the mayor of Pornassio around 1303, imposed locally. Ormeasco is produced from the vine of the same name that comes from the Dolcetto family in the area of ​​Pornassio, Pieve di Teco.

CHARACTERISTICS

Intense red color with violet reflections. Fruity wine with hints of blackberry, raspberry and violet. Tannic, dry, warm, persistent flavor. The alcohol content varies from 12 to 14 degrees. Serving temperature from 14 to 16 degrees. Recommended pairings rabbit, roasts, stew, game, lamb with artichokes, stuffed vegetables
