In the heart of western Liguria, where sun and sea kiss the Albenga plain, the Principe (native) vine variety of wine is born Pigato.

It was in those magical lands that Cav's dream was born and came true. Aldo Calleri, progenitor of a family of winemakers. The dream took shape in the then paternal home in Salea d'Albenga, where the long history of the Cantine Calleri.

The skilful art of winemaking respecting tradition and typicality earned them, from the very beginning, the first of a long series of awards for the quality of the wines produced and is still handed down within the family.

Marcello Calleri, the heir to this historic winery, says that the award he is most proud of is still the "Cangrande" awarded by his father at Vinitaly in 1975.

The current production is lower than that of the past and aims only at excellence, given that it is managed by Marcello in the first person, in every phase from the harvest to the bottle. Liguria does not have a surface area such as to allow large extensions of vineyards, therefore quality becomes an essential value, especially for this historical family of Ponente wine.
