  • Synonyms: Favorita, Malvoisie a gros grains

  • History: Probably introduced in the western Riviera in the fifteenth century, from France, Corsica and Sardinia. Certainly surveyed at the beginning of the 19th century and “… the one that enjoys the reputation among the varieties that are grown near Ventimiglia and Sarzana …”. Today is recommended in the provinces of Imperia and Savona.

  • Grape: medium, conical, winged, sometimes with an elongated wing, medium compact. Medium-large berry, greenish-yellow color, even golden with light over-ripening, medium-thin skin. Harvest in the first 2 decades of September.

  • Vinification: white, dry. Beautiful pale yellow colored, sometimes with greenish reflections, aromas of great
    intensity, fruity with pear in evidence, sage and elderberry, fruity taste, well balanced, fresh and savory.
