This could be a turning point for wines from Western Liguria: never before has there been such interest at Vinitaly. The companies' assessment Vite in Riviera The feedback from Verona, where the 58th edition of the most important Italian wine fair took place last week, is extremely positive. The overall numbers for the event (90 attendees, a quarter of whom were from abroad, from 135 Payes, in the presence of 4 thousand exhibiting companies, with an exceptional presence on the media and social media, about 98 million of total interactions in 7 days and over 14.700 contents generated) speak clearly. The The sector, despite its challenging times, confirms its impact on the economy and its primary role in establishing Made in Italy products worldwide. And, in its own small way, Western Liguria is ready to play its part.
Dispay window. In the large, modern and welcoming space of Vite in Riviera (23 production companies from the provinces of Imperia and Savona) over the four days of the event saw the presence of more than a thousand importers, distributors, experts and professional operators, for a total of over two thousand tastings, divided among the one hundred or more labels available, representing all the DOC, IGT and excellent local products.
Super guestsAmong the most significant visits to the stand, confirming the attention of the institutions towards the sector and the work of the network, stand out those of the Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, of the Minister Francesco Lollobrigida and of their new colleague Gianmarco Mazzi, of the regional councilors Alessandro Piana and Luca Lombardi, as well as of the mayors of Ortovero, Osvaldo Geddo, and Quiliano, Nicola Izetta.
Successful Focus. Sold out, unanimous consensus and numerous wows have been achieved by the three Masterclasses held by Jacopo Fanciulli, brand ambassador of Vite in Riviera. Worth noting, in particular, is the success of the one dedicated to the longevity of the Pigato, the DOC most representative of the Western Ligurian Riviera, held in the prestigious Sala Iris, within the PalaExpo. Participants included several foreign experts, bloggers, and journalists from national newspapers. The other two Masterclasses, hosted in the Liguria Region conference area, offered an overview of the most recent vintages, with strong praise for the 2025 harvest, which, despite a production decline of approximately 20% due to less than optimal weather conditions, expressed a high quality, recognized by all tasters.

This confirms that Western Liguria, in its own small way, is indeed a significant region in the wine and wine tourism sectors, both nationally and internationally. The producers and our staff found a truly professional and interesting approach to tasting and interpreting wines, a testament to the growing culture and the quality of those who, within such a broad and varied landscape, decided to come and learn more about our labels. We were proud to have welcomed three ministers and regional councilors to our space, as well as having two mayors from our area among the participants in the Masterclasses. The goal of promoting the excellence of Western Liguria has been fully achieved..
Upcoming events. The success of Vinitaly 2026 confirms the positive trend of the companies Vite in Riviera, already highlighted at the Le Prime event in Albenga at the end of March. The network's 2026 program will continue in the coming months with participation in various themed events in Liguria, including in Genoa and the Levante region, and with its own initiatives such as Giugno in Cantina (Visits to the vineyard and cellar, culminating on the weekend of June 20th and 21st and the grand finale, at the end of November, with the 21st edition of Granaccia & Rossi di Liguria, in Quiliano. Meanwhile, themed evenings continue at the headquarters of Ortovero of the Enoteca Regionale della Liguria. The next one, scheduled for Friday, April 24th, dedicated to the 4 from Albenga and curated by chefs Andrea Masala and Mario De Marchi, is already sold out. Guided tastings are held several times a week at the same location, by appointment, accompanied by products prepared with locally sourced ingredients.
