An unmissable event for wine lovers and operators, on Sunday 22nd and Monday 23rd, in the historic centre of the town of Ingauna, presentation and preview tasting of the new vintages of DOC and IGT wines from Western Liguria, with the companies of the business network Vite in Riviera

There are over one hundred labels to be tasted tomorrow, Sunday 22nd, and Monday 23rd March in Albenga, at the former Church of San Lorenzo (Piazza Rossi), where Le Prime di Vite in Riviera, an event presenting and previewing the new DOC and IGT wine vintages from the wineries of the eponymous business network, which – now in its 10th year of activity – brings together 23 companies from the provinces of Savona and Imperia.
For the third year in a row the event finds its home in the historic centre of the Ingauna town, where experts, wine lovers and operators discover the fruit of the 2025 harvest (and recent bottlings of previous vintages) of Pigato, Vermentino, Ormeasco, Granaccia, Rossese e Dolceacqua, the most famous denominations of Western Liguria, but not only, in the various versions and processes.
The starter of the First Course is served on Sunday at 10 am in the room on the 1st floor of Palazzo Vecchio (Civic Tower) with the Masterclass, reserved for operators, “From the coast to the hinterland: discovering the new DOC and IGT vintages”, curated by Jacopo Fanciulli, brand ambassador of Vite in Riviera, expert in tasting, communication, marketing and wine promotion, candidate for the Master of Wine and judge of several international competitions.
Single admission times for both days to the former Church of San Lorenzo (Sunday from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, Monday from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm). The €20 ticket includes a free tasting, a glass of wine, a glass holder, a small plate of locally sourced appetizers, and a visit to the adjacent Sommariva Museum. A discount is available for sommeliers with a valid membership card, while admission is free for HORECA professionals (registration required).
Visitors will also have the opportunity, on Sunday afternoon, to participate in a free guided tour of the historic center (meeting at 16 pm at the Iat Office, information and reservations at 335.5366406 and turismo@comune.albenga.sv.it).
In the days leading up to the event, numerous businesses in the center participated, collaborating in the promotion with themed window displays. Those participating were Fiorellapiazzamatteotti (underwear, Piazza Matteotti 1); Musicology Record Store (records, Via Torlaro 11); Olivari Gioielli (jewelry, Via Torlaro 7); Pastore (leather goods, Via D'Aste 5); Pastore (footwear, Via Medaglie d'oro 12); Privato & Intimo (underwear, Via Medaglie d'oro 10); Roba da Matti (clothing, Via Torlaro 10); Rosso Pistacchio (footwear and accessories, Via B. Ricci 4); Signor G (cocktail bar, Piazza Rossi 5); VGioielli 44 (jewelry, Via Medaglie d'oro 44).
For the occasion, the following restaurants in Albenga are offering dishes made with local ingredients, paired with wines from Western Liguria: Hostaria del Viale (Ravioli with trumpet zucchini, Brigasca ricotta, and local pink prawns, Pigato); Nino's Brasserie (Fassona tartare accompanied by Albenga spiny artichoke with egg yolk powder, Ormeasco di Pornassio), Ristorante Enosfizioteca Conterosso (Sautéed artichokes with soft-boiled egg on Ligurian sole fondue, Granaccia), UnOttima Annata (Ravioli with Albenga borage with butter and chopped aromatic herbs from the plain, Pigato).
The Prime of Vite in Riviera It is an initiative carried out in collaboration with the Municipality of Albenga, the patronage of the Liguria Region, the Chamber of Commerce of the Ligurian Riviera, the National Association of Wine Cities and the Regional Wine Shop of Liguria, with the support of Banca d'Alba and the support of Fisar (technical partner).
The Albenga exhibition, which opens a spring full of food and wine events in Liguria, anticipates by just twenty days the 58th edition of Vinitaly, the most important Italian fair in the sector, scheduled from 12th to 15th April in Verona, where this year too there will be a large area (pavilion 10, stand A3) reserved for Vite in RivieraThree Masterclasses are planned in the prestigious context, under the authoritative guidance of Jacopo Fanciulli: “Orizzonti Bianchi: Pigato, Vermentino and the saline nuances of Western Liguria” (Sunday 12, 13pm); “Challenging Time, the unexpected longevity of Western Liguria: exclusive vertical tasting with the wines of Vite in Riviera” (Monday 13th, 11am), “Roots and Rock: Rossese, Ormeasco and Granaccia, the red identity of Liguria” (Tuesday 14, 13pm).
